Preview: Madison Marlins vs. Sharpstown Apollos
Madison is 8-2 against Sharpstown since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Madison Marlins will be staying on the road to face off against the Sharpstown Apollos at 8:30 p.m. on January 19th. One thing working in Madison's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last ten contests.
Even though Sterling scored an imposing 63 points on Friday, Madison still came out on top. Madison walked away with a 70-63 victory over Sterling. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up seven more assists than your opponent, as Madison did.
Marquez Hubbard-chenault continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with five rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Nicolas Golden, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Sharpstown's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their eighth straight loss. They fell 58-49 to Northside.
Madison has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Sharpstown, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-19.
Everything came up roses for Madison against Sharpstown in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 94-57 win. Will Madison repeat their success, or does Sharpstown have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
