Softball Recap: Emmett Comes Up Short

Emmett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 7-4 to the Skyview Hawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Huskies of the 7-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Oakley Scheibe spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Cassidy Ford was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Lydia Andrews was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Emmett's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Skyview, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Emmett is set to square off against their familiar foe Middleton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Skyview will challenge rival Nampa at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
