Softball Recap: St. Martin Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

St. Martin proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 18) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let the D'Iberville Warriors get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Yellow Jackets, who have now won four contests in a row.

Not much got past Miranda Ladnier, who gave up just seven hits and racked up six Ks to keep D'Iberville off the board. Ladnier has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kiyara Lee, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

St. Martin's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for D'Iberville, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Coming up, St. Martin will face off against Harrison Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for D'Iberville, they will take on Ocean Springs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. D'Iberville's pitchers better be ready for this one: Ocean Springs has averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
