Volleyball Recap: Marathon Comes Up Short

Marathon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mosinee Indians. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Raiders of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-15.

Emma Love paced Marathon's offense, picking up eight kills. Love got some help from Brinly Stencil and her ten assists.

Mosinee had a senior duo take command as Kyndal Schlei had five aces and Taelyn Jirschele had six digs and four assists. Those five aces set a new season-high mark for Schlei.

Marathon now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Mosinee, their record is now 11-1.

Coincidentally, Marathon and Mosinee will both be playing Tri-County the next time they take the court. The Indians will host the Penguins at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Red Raiders will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
