Basketball Game Preview: Wesleyan Christian Academy Trojans vs. The Burlington School Spartans

On Monday, Wesleyan Christian Academy lost to Davidson Day on the road by a 73-56 margin. The Trojans have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Wesleyan Christian Academy might have lost, but man, Nick Keith was a machine: he posted 18 points and five rebounds. Keith's big performance that evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Tyson Thompson, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine boards.

Meanwhile, The Burlington School lost 92-69 to Winston Salem Christian National on Saturday.

Wesleyan Christian Academy will need to focus on slowing down Drew Johnson, one of several The Burlington School players who made an impact when they last played. He shot 53% from the field en route to 28 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Karon Watlington, who put up 13 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds.

The Burlington School's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Wesleyan Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Wesleyan Christian Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against The Burlington School in their previous meeting back in January, sneaking past 55-52. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Spartans' Kaden Hammond, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 13 boards.
