It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Prairie du Chien ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Cuba City Cubans 14-13. The Blackhawks' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Bryce Lenzendorf, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Brennan Koecke, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Lenzendorf wasn't the only one making solid contact: Prairie du Chien kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

Prairie du Chien's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Cuba City, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Prairie du Chien will head out to take on Lancaster at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cuba City, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Boscobel at 4:30 p.m.
