Baseball Recap: Valley Christian Finds Home Field Redemption Against Village Christian

There's no place like home for Valley Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Village Christian Crusaders by a score of 5-2 on Wednesday. This was payback for the Defenders, who suffered a 6-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Valley Christian got a great performance from Riley Jones as he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. Jones has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Austin Abrahams and RJ Estrada did most of the damage at the plate: Abrahams scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Estrada scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Valley Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Valley Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season.
