Softball Recap: Pierce Takes a Loss

Pierce was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Princeton Eagles. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Maicey Hoebel was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over six innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Jocelyn Ramos was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-2. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024.

Pierce's loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Pierce has already played their next match (against Williams), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Princeton, they have already played their next game, a 14-3 defeat against Chester on the 13th.
