Basketball Game Preview: Bettye Davis East Anchorage Thunderbirds vs. West Anchorage Eagles

Bettye Davis East Anchorage hasn't had much luck against West Anchorage recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Thunderbirds face off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m.

Last Thursday, Bettye Davis East Anchorage took a blow against Monroe Catholic, falling 72-14. While losing is never fun, the Thunderbirds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Rams are ranked tenth).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Anchorage). They put the hurt on Chugiak with a sharp 68-43 victory on Tuesday. The win was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on four straight.

This is the second loss in a row for Bettye Davis East Anchorage and nudges their season record down to 2-14. As for West Anchorage, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.

Bettye Davis East Anchorage took a serious blow against West Anchorage in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, falling 73-46. Can Bettye Davis East Anchorage avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
