Recap: Fredonia Hillbillies vs. Jamestown Red Raiders
The Fredonia Hillbillies had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 54-47 win over Jamestown. This was payback for Fredonia, who suffered a 64-28 loss the last time these two teams met.
When it comes to explaining why Jamestown lost, one person who can't be blamed is Alyson Canfield. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a triple-double on 31 points, 11 rebounds, and 9 steals.
Fredonia's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Jamestown, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fredonia will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Falconer at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. As for Jamestown, they will be playing at home against Gowanda at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
