Volleyball Recap: Rock Springs Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Rock Springs Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Creekside Christian Academy Cougars. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Cougars when the teams met back in September of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Rock Springs Christian Academy sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 23-25, 15-12.

Lucy Sowell paced Rock Springs Christian Academy's offense, picking up eight kills. Sowell got some help from Karragen Crumbley and her 17 assists. Sowell also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Abbie Beck, racking up two apiece.

Rock Springs Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Creekside Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-11.

Rock Springs Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Scholars Guild Academy on the 23rd. As for Creekside Christian Academy, they have also already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Central Georgia Arts on the 23rd.
