Basketball Game Preview: Grand Valley Mustangs vs. Cuyahoga Heights Red Wolves

Grand Valley hasn't had much luck against Cuyahoga Heights recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Grand Valley Mustangs will take on the Cuyahoga Heights Red Wolves in a tournament on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Grand Valley saw some tournament action on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 56-36 margin over United. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Cuyahoga Heights had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 58-49 win over the Phoenix.

Cuyahoga Heights pushed their record up to 16-7 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.2 points over those games. As for Grand Valley, their win bumped their record up to 20-3.

Grand Valley might still be hurting after the 50-28 defeat they got from Cuyahoga Heights when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can Grand Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
