Preview: Hawthorne Christian Academy Hawks vs. Carolina Christian Academy
The Hawthorne Christian Academy Hawks will head out on the road to take on Carolina Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Hawthorne Christian Academy and five for Carolina Christian Academy.
Last Thursday, Hawthorne Christian Academy took a serious blow against Victory Christian, falling 71-41.
Despite their loss, Hawthorne Christian Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Clay Ballard, who scored 11 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Clinton, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Carolina Christian Academy came up short against Union Christian Day on Friday and fell 61-54.
Hawthorne Christian Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Carolina Christian Academy, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-2.
