Baseball Recap: Marion County Comes Up Short

Marion County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Berry Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-5 last Tuesday.

Marion County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Berry, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-4.

Coming up, Marion County will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Brilliant at 4:00 p.m. As for Berry, they will head out to challenge Pickens County at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Pickens County has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.1 runs per game on average), something Berry will no doubt try to take advantage of.
