Basketball Game Preview: Ocean View Seahawks vs. Segerstrom Jaguars

The Ocean View Seahawks will head out on the road to challenge the Segerstrom Jaguars at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Ocean View has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 26.

Last Tuesday, Ocean View was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 75-71 to Costa Mesa.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Zeke Case, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 boards. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (five). Cavin Flanagan was another key player, going 8 of 19 on his way to 22 points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Ocean View was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Segerstrom came up short against Garden Grove on Wednesday and fell 57-46. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ocean View's record now sits at 4-18. As for Segerstrom, their record is now 9-11.

Ocean View came up short against Segerstrom when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 61-52. Can Ocean View avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
