Baseball Game Preview: Buena Vista Bison vs. Lincoln Northwest Falcons

The Buena Vista Bison will challenge the Lincoln Northwest Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Buena Vista took a 12-run defeat the last time they faced off against Barstow, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bison sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Knights on Saturday.

Julian Ramiez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Gino Caniglia was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Anderson Craig was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Lincoln Northwest narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Blair 4-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.

Kael Shearer looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

At the plate, Lincoln Northwest's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Thomas Shoaff-Tranick, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Buena Vista's win bumped their record up to 4-20. As for Lincoln Northwest, their victory bumped their record up to 9-14.
