Volleyball Recap: Central Starts off Right with Win over Zephyrhills

Central took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Zephyrhills Bulldogs. This was payback for the Bears, who suffered a 3-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Central easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-13.

Their offense was headlined by Sierra Becker and Isabella Colon, who picked up two kills apiece. They got some help from Lacie Bigger and her two assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with 11 aces.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will take on Springstead at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Zephyrhills, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Wesley Chapel at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
