Carthage is a perfect 7-0 against Center since October of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bulldogs are taking a road trip to face off against the Roughriders at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Carthage has 20 straight victories, Center has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

In Friday's Canine Competition, Carthage prevailed. They breezed past San Benito to the tune of 41-3 on Friday. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 22 points or more this season.

Jett Surratt went supernova, throwing for 281 yards and four TDs on only 17 passes. Another player making a difference was Jaden Jeffress, who picked up 111 receiving yards and one score.

Meanwhile, Center came up short against Madisonville last Friday and fell 21-14. The game marked the Roughriders' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Carthage will have to contain Jeremy Bluford as he made an impact in Center's last game. He rushed for 116 yards. Decaden Cooks was in the mix as well, providing Center with one touchdown.

Carthage's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Center, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Everything came up roses for Carthage against Center when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 59-21 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Bluford, who rushed for 116 yards and a pair of TDs. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Bulldogs still be able to contain Bluford? There's only one way to find out.
