Volleyball Recap: Chapel Hill Tigers vs. Riverside-Durham Pirates

After flying high against Jordan last Wednesday, Chapel Hill came back down to earth. The Tigers fell just short of the Riverside-Durham Pirates by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pirates earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Chapel Hill took Riverside-Durham into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-19, 25-19, 17-25, 15-12.

Leading Riverside-Durham to victory were Jacob Feller and Noah Mecagni. Feller had seven digs and three aces, while Mecagni had seven digs and one block. What's more, Feller racked up 36 assists, the most he's had since back in March.

Having lost for the first time this season, Chapel Hill fell to 10-1. As for Riverside-Durham, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
