Baseball Game Preview: Washington Bluejays vs. Chaminade Red Devils

Washington is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Chaminade a 13-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Saturday. The Washington Bluejays will be playing at home against the Chaminade Red Devils at 10:00 a.m. Washington has given up an average of 6.7 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Washington couldn't beat North Point on Wednesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the fifth inning. The Bluejays lost 15-5 to the Grizzlies.

Washington saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Hopfensperger, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Chaminade lost a heartbreaker to De Smet Jesuit when they met back in April of 2024, and they left with a heavy heart again on Wednesday. The Red Devils took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans.

Chaminade also got a good showing from Charlie Hobbs, who pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest earned runs Hobbs has allowed since back in March.

Washington's loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Chaminade, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-14.

Washington took their victory against Chaminade in their previous meeting back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 15-3 score. Will the Bluejays repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
