Baseball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Eunice's 11th in Last 12 Outings

With a playoff win on the line, Eunice rose to the challenge on Thursday. They blew past the Raton Tigers 12-0. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won 14 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Haziel Goitia looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Luis Zamora, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Misa Brito, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Eunice was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive games.

Eunice is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.6 runs over those games. As for Raton, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-12.

Looking ahead, Eunice will square off against Loving at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Cardinals surely won't give up without a fight. Raton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
