The Freeman Golden Eagles were able to grind out a solid win over the Memorial Mustangs on Friday, taking the game 37-29. The 37-point effort marked the Golden Eagles' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Freeman's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-6. As for Memorial, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

Freeman and Memorial could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Golden Eagles will challenge Alief Taylor at 7:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (467 vs. 85). Meanwhile, Memorial (ranked 630th) will meet Cy-Fair (ranked 135th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
