Basketball Recap: Gainesville Falls to Battlefield in First Game of Season

Gainesville had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Battlefield Bobcats by a score of 58-56 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Cardinals have suffered since December 12, 2023.

Battlefield now has a winning record of 3-2.

Gainesville won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Forest Park at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Battlefield, they will also get right back to it: they'll square off against Eastern View at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
