Football Game Preview: Weatherford Kangaroos vs. Mansfield Legacy Broncos

The Weatherford Kangaroos will challenge the Mansfield Legacy Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

Weatherford is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Crowley on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Kangaroos were beaten by the Eagles 40-8. The matchup marked the Kangaroos' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Mansfield Legacy fell victim to North Crowley and their airtight defense on Friday. They had to suffer through a 68-0 loss at the hands of the Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while the Panthers are ranked 14th).

Weatherford's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Mansfield Legacy, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Weatherford was dealt a bruising 55-14 loss at the hands of Mansfield Legacy in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Broncos' Nathan Wilson, who threw for 80 yards and three TDs while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushed for 63 yards on only six carries.
