Baseball Recap: Clark Has No Trouble Against Tivy

Clark's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Everything went their way against the Tivy Antlers as the Clark Cougars made off with a 14-1 victory. That 13 run margin sets a new team best for the Cougars this season.

Angel Tamayo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Tamayo was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2. Clark is undefeated when Tamayo posts two or more runs, but 2-6 otherwise.

In other batting news, Clark got a massive performance out of Jerry Brightwell, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Tyler Hummel, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Clark always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Clark is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. Tivy's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-9.

Clark wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 17-1 loss against Alexander on the 8th. Tivy has also already played their next game (against Cornerstone Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
