Softball Recap: Roosevelt Eagles vs. Slaton Tigers
Roosevelt lost against Slaton back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Eagles fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 6-5. The Eagles' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.
Roosevelt got a massive performance out of Zobry Bryant, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those RBI were Bryant's first of the season. Kadence Goley was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
Roosevelt's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Slaton, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Roosevelt is set to take on their familiar foe Dimmitt at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Slaton will square off against rival Littlefield at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
