Soccer Recap: Elgin Comes Up Short

Elgin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pflugerville Connally Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 586th, while the Cougars are ranked 208th).

Elgin's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Pflugerville Connally, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Elgin will square off against East View at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. East View will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Elgin surely won't give up without a fight. As for Pflugerville Connally, they will head out on the road to face off against Hendrickson at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
