Recap: Mullen Broncos vs. Sutherland Sailors
The Mullen Broncos had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 45-38 victory over Sutherland on Thursday. That's another feather in the cap for Mullen, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Mullen found their leader in underclassman Hayley Donohoe, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Hegland, who scored 7 points.
Sutherland's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Gracyn Elfeldt, who scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds, and Fallyn Elfeldt who scored 6 points along with 6 steals.
Mullen's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Sutherland, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
