Baseball Game Preview: Strafford Indians vs. Hollister Tigers

The Strafford Indians will venture away from home to face off against the Hollister Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Strafford's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Hollister's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Last Tuesday, Strafford was able to grind out a solid win over Reeds Spring, taking the game 5-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Indians.

Meanwhile, Hollister has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 4.1 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Clever, sneaking past 12-10. While the Tigers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Strafford pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hollister, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.

Strafford beat Hollister 8-5 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
