Basketball Recap: Camdon Pitchford and Grayson Rigdon Secure Win for Columbus

It was a proper cat-fight when Columbus duked it out withTidehaven on Monday. The Columbus Cardinals came out on top against the Tidehaven Tigers by a score of 69-58. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 69-20 on January 4th.

Columbus was led to victory by Grayson Rigdon and Camdon Pitchford. Rigdon went 7 for 10 en route to 27 points, while Pitchford made all 6 shots he took racking up 21 points in addition to six assists and five rebounds. The contest was Rigdon's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brody Vinklarek, who posted eight points.

Columbus smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.

Columbus' win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Tidehaven, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Columbus wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 69-57 victory against Hallettsville on the 24th. As for Tidehaven, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-25 defeat against Industrial on the 24th.
