Basketball Recap: Anderson Continues Home Dominance on Saturday

Anderson took a 34-point loss the last time they faced off against Muncie Central, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Anderson Indians had just enough and edged the Muncie Central Bearcats out 59-57. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Bearcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Jaxson Johnson and Lj Strange certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Johnson went 9-for-16 on his way to 21 points, while Strange went 6-for-7 en route to 16 points and six boards. What's more, Strange also posted two blocks, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Mason Ferguson also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Anderson's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.6 points over those games. As for Muncie Central, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.

Coming up, Anderson will take on Indianapolis Shortridge at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Muncie Central, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Bearcats face off against the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
