Softball Recap: Berwyn/Cicero Morton Comes Up Short

Berwyn/Cicero Morton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 5-2 to the Leyden Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 12-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

Berwyn/Cicero Morton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abbigail Galvez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.

Berwyn/Cicero Morton's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Leyden, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.

Looking ahead, Berwyn/Cicero Morton will square off against Downers Grove South at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Downers Grove South will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Berwyn/Cicero Morton surely won't give up without a fight. As for Leyden, they will host Proviso East at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles are facing the Pirates at the right time seeing as the Pirates are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
