Softball Recap: Berthoud Spartans vs. Thompson Valley Eagles

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Berthoud). They blew past the Thompson Valley Eagles 23-2 on Tuesday. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by eight runs or more this season.

Annabelle Hughes was a standout: she scored two runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Griffin, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Berthoud kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 22 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now hit at least eight hits in 11 consecutive contests.
