Football Recap: Doherty Takes a Loss

Doherty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Falcon Falcons and fell 42-0. The shutout was out of character for the Spartans seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in September.

Jordyn Marschall threw for 70 yards on four of 15 attempts. Anthony Holwerda was his top target, picking up 51 receiving yards.

Doherty's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Falcon, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-4.

Coming up, Doherty will be playing at home against Mesa Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Falcon, they will welcome Pueblo West at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Cyclones' defense has only allowed 11.6 points per game this season, so the Falcons' offense will have their work cut out for them.
