Basketball Recap: Wausau East Takes a Loss

Wausau East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 53-17 defeat at the hands of the Rhinelander Hodags. That's two games in a row now that the Lumberjacks have lost by exactly 36 points.

Wausau East's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Evelyn Thome, who posted four points along with 12 rebounds and four blocks, and Jerzey Moen, who earned four points and three steals. Thome is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least ten every time she's taken the court this season.

Wausau East's defeat dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Rhinelander, their victory bumped their record up to 13-10.

When Wausau East and Rhinelander next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Wausau East will try to stop Stevens Point's five-game winning streak when the meet at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, Rhinelander will take on Mosinee and their six-game winning streak at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
