Mt. Carmel has gone a perfect 6-0 against Wayne City recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Mt. Carmel Golden Aces will challenge the Wayne City Indians at 7:00 p.m. Mt. Carmel will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Mt. Carmel is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Edwards County: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Mt. Carmel blew Edwards County out of the water with a 67-35 final score. The Golden Aces have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 games by 23 points or more this season.

Mt. Carmel relied on the efforts of Maycee Randall, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds, and Riley Hershey, who went 9 of 18 en route to 19 points and seven assists. Madison Stevens was another key player, putting up eight points and six boards.

Meanwhile, Wayne City ended up a good deal behind North Clay/Clay City on Saturday and lost 42-26. The Indians have struggled against North Clay/Clay City recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Mt. Carmel's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 24-4. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 35.7% in those games and 26.4% outside of them. As for Wayne City, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Everything came up roses for Mt. Carmel against Wayne City when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 56-19 victory. Will Mt. Carmel repeat their success, or does Wayne City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
