Volleyball Game Preview: Deseret Peak Golden Eagles vs. Grantsville Cowboys

The Deseret Peak Golden Eagles will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against the Grantsville Cowboys at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Deseret Peak will be strutting in after a win while Grantsville will be coming in after a loss.

On Tuesday, Deseret Peak was able to grind out a solid victory over Judge Memorial Catholic, taking the game 3-1.

While Deseret Peak might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Judge Memorial Catholic scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-18, 22-25, 25-21.

Deseret Peak found their leader in sophomore Amelia Cannon, who had 32 assists and one block.

Meanwhile, Grantsville didn't have quite enough to beat Union on Tuesday and fell 3-2.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Grantsville sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-22, 21-25, 25-7, 21-25, 15-10.

Grantsville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Deseret Peak, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.
