Baseball Recap: New London Comes Up Short

New London was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 14-13 heartbreaker at the hands of the Western Reserve Roughriders. The game snapped a strange streak: the last six times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Jarrett Mencl made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Keith Squire, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

New London's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Western Reserve, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Coming up, New London will challenge St. Mary Central Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Western Reserve, they will welcome Mapleton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
