Softball Recap: Lowry Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

There's no place like home for Lowry, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Elko Indians a 7-0 shutout on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Buckaroos, who have now won nine matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Makinley Hislop was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Hislop was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Liliana Aguilar and Crisslyn Rodriguez did most of the damage at the plate: Aguilar scored a run while going 1-for-3, while Rodriguez scored two runs while going 1-for-2. What's more, Aguilar posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in February.

Lowry has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Elko, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lowry beat the Indians by a score of 10-0 later that day.
