Soccer Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Bastrop's Ninth in Last 12 Outings

There's no place like home for Bastrop, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They never let the Crockett Cougars get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Tuesday. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Cougars are ranked 739th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gael Ramirez (Transition) and Angel Chavez Hernandez scored both of Bastrop's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

Bastrop has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 14-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up five goals over those 12 matches. Crockett is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Looking ahead, Bastrop will head out to take on Anderson at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Anderson will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Bastrop surely won't give up without a fight. As for Crockett, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Navarro at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Crockett is facing Navarro at the right time seeing as Navarro is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
