Softball Recap: Cleveland's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

After a string of four wins, Cleveland's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Franklin Quakers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Quakers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 10-4 loss back in April.

Cleveland saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Clara Waldron, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Cleveland now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Franklin, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-12-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cleveland will welcome Ida B. Wells at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Franklin, they will face off against Roosevelt at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Roughriders will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Quakers surely won't give up without a fight.
