Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for City of Life Christian Academy

City of Life Christian Academy won the last time they faced All Saints' Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. City of Life Christian Academy blew past All Saints' Academy 17-10. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won four matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Jenna Johnson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up six earned (and four unearned) runs off ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two RBI.

In other batting news, City of Life Christian Academy let Destiny Sanchez and Mikayla Medina-Flood run wild. Sanchez scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3, while Medina-Flood went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave Sanchez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Janyali Tirado, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

The victory was the third in a row for City of Life Christian Academy, bringing their record up to 4-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for All Saints' Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. City of Life Christian Academy will host Warner Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. City of Life Christian Academy is facing Warner Christian Academy at the right time seeing as Warner Christian Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for All Saints' Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cambridge Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
