Volleyball Recap: Soddy Daisy's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

Soddy Daisy came into Monday's matchup having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Rhea County Golden Eagles on Monday. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Golden Eagles back in August, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

While Soddy Daisy won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-14.

Farrah Hilliard was the offensive standout of the match as she had eight digs and four aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last seven contests. Shaylin King also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Rhea County lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kamryn Swafford, who had six digs and five assists. Kindale Rumer was another key player, getting 11 assists and three digs.

Soddy Daisy's win bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Rhea County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.

Soddy Daisy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Bledsoe County on the 23rd. As for Rhea County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Cocke County on the 27th.
