Basketball Recap: Newberg Comes Up Short

Newberg lost against McMinnville back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Newberg Tigers received a blow as they fell 62-45 to the McMinnville Grizzlies. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Grizzlies are ranked 15th).

Newberg's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for McMinnville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers take on the Jaguars at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McMinnville, they will face off against Forest Grove at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
