Baseball Game Preview: Sweetwater Red Devils vs. Hilltop Lancers

For the second straight game, Sweetwater will face off against Hilltop. The Red Devils are taking a road trip to square off against the Lancers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

Sweetwater's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Hilltop, sneaking past 1-0. That's two games straight that the Red Devils have won by just one run.

Sweetwater saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Rodriguez, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits Rodriguez has posted since back in March.

Hilltop has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.67 runs. As for Sweetwater, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-11.
