Softball Game Preview: Foran Lions vs. Holy Cross Crusaders

The Foran Lions will take on the Holy Cross Crusaders on Wednesday. Foran will come into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

Foran is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They came out on top against Bacon Academy by a score of 6-2.

Abigail Corris spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in 23 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Emily Speringo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Nyla Jaser was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Holy Cross nor Lewis Mills made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Crusaders came out on top in a nail-biter against the Spartans, sneaking past 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Crusaders have posted since April 15th.

Foran pushed their record up to 24-0 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Holy Cross, their victory bumped their record up to 13-8.
