El Cajon Valley scaled the state rankings by moving to 674 from 795 this week, the biggest jump in Grossmont - Valley. The Braves climbed the ranks as a result of beating Orange Glen 38-13.

El Capitan added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Granite Hills, 55-14. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Vaqueros.

Brad Cagle threw for 239 yards and 4 touchdowns. He was 15-21 with 1 interception.

Cagle put up the best numbers in passing as El Capitan beat the Eagles. Cagle's favorite target this week was Chris Pearson, who caught 5 passes for 105 yards.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place El Capitan takes on second place Mount Miguel. Last week, Ron Burner's team defeated Granite Hills, while Mount Miguel topped Poway.

Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when the Vaqueros' Scott Root goes up against the Matadors' Davaughn Murray.

Next week's game between El Capitan and Mount Miguel will feature an aerial matchup as Cagle tests his arm against Murray's defensive ability. For the year, the Vaqueros' Cagle has managed 1,456 yards and 17 touchdowns, while Murray has 4 interceptions for Shaun McDade's team.

One of Grossmont - Valley's premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when El Capitan and the Matadors face off next week.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Mount Miguel takes on the Vaqueros. The Matadors have allowed 101 points this season, while El Capitan has given up 79. Mount Miguel allowed 3 points last week as it bested the Titans.
