Volleyball Recap: Tooele Buffaloes vs. Sky View Bobcats
Tooele was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Sky View Bobcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.
The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Sky View scored at least 19 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-23, 25-20.
Olivia Nelson paced Tooele's offense, picking up six kills. Nelson got some help from Jessica Sharp and her 11 assists. Trinity Crouse controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Sky View's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brynn Spackman, who had 11 digs and seven aces. Those seven aces gave Spackman a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Abby Thatcher, who had 17 digs.
Tooele's loss dropped their record down to 3-20. As for Sky View, their win ended a four-match drought on the road and puts them at 14-11.
We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Tooele is set to take on their familiar foe Stansbury at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Sky View will face off against rival Green Canyon at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
