Sumner waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the St. Thomas Aquinas Falcons 8-2. The result was nothing new for the Cowboys, who have now won 23 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Sumner's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.

Coming up, Sumner is taking a road trip to square off against Franklinton at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Demons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.77 runs per game on average), something the Cowboys will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Independence at 5:30 p.m.
