Basketball Game Preview: Clarkson/Leigh Patriots vs. David City Scouts

Clarkson/Leigh is on a seven-game streak of home losses, David City an eight-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The Clarkson/Leigh Patriots will host the David City Scouts at 7:30 p.m. Clarkson/Leigh will be strutting in after a win while David City will be coming in after a defeat.

Clarkson/Leigh is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top against Stanton by a score of 62-51 on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won nine in a row.

Clarkson/Leigh's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tucker Matthies led the charge by putting up 17 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Kyle McMullin, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 16 rebounds.

Meanwhile, David City lost to Wilber-Clatonia at home by a 56-37 margin on Friday.

David City's loss dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Clarkson/Leigh, their win bumped their record up to 3-18.

Clarkson/Leigh was dealt a bruising 65-33 defeat at the hands of David City when the teams last played back in February of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Clarkson/Leigh was down 41-20.
